Stamp of Approval!

Last weekend I went to my friend Melissa’s for a girly day of eating pizza, watching the OG Laguna Beach episodes, and playing with planners! She asked if I would be interested in checking out a family stamp collection she’s had stored away forever. You already know I said yes!!

First of all, can we talk about the Fashion Bug box they are stored in!? I don’t know about where you live, but growing up in my rural area, Fashion Bug was really our only option for clothes shopping without having to drive more than 15 minutes (one way). I distinctly remember them having blow-up furniture for sale in the mid 90s that I wanted so badly! I also distinctly remember the trauma of trying on clothes there in the mid-late 90s when everything was the slimmest of fits. I’m sure my mom could write a separate blog post about me throwing tantrums in the dressing room the night before a school event that I needed black dress pants and a button down shirt for, but I couldn’t get the pants past my thighs and none of the shirts would stay buttoned. Regardless…! The box was really cool to see!

I took the afternoon this Saturday to look through all the stamps - and I also couldn’t resist the urge to organize them, hehe! There were some very interesting ones. The largest group were the 29 cent stamps from the early 90s. There were also many international stamps. I loved looking at those! Russ (my 14 year old toy poodle) decided he wanted to look too, but he quickly got bored and fell asleep. This was such a fun way to spend the afternoon! Here are some of my faves :) !

Besides the international stamps, the 4 cent ones were my favorites! I especially love the Camp Fire Girls and the Christmas 1962!

The 5 cent group is also neat! The favorite here is Food for Peace!

From the 29 cent stamps, I really liked the cottage-core geese! That cornflower shade of blue brought back a lot of memories! I also loved the winter ones - I remember them from when I was a kid!

Here is a selection of the international stamps!

These are incredibly cool. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite out of this bunch! I really love Egypt, Turkey, and Dubai!

Which stamp is your favorite!?

Thanks, Melissa, for the lovely Saturday activity, and I will see you soon for another Laguna + planner sesh!!
