I aim to fill an existing gap by providing archival services to northwestern Pennsylvania (and beyond) through the preservation of, and increased access to, local history and personal legacies.

From personal family collections to church archives, military memorabilia, community history projects, and historical records and collections, Off-Script Archiving provides tailored archival services focused on preservation, accessibility, and long-term stewardship.

I passionately believe these services should be accessible not only to large institutions, but also to individuals, families, and small communities.

I offer the following archival services:

  • Conduct initial assessment/inventory of historical records collection

  • Arrange, describe, rehouse in archival quality enclosures (if necessary)

  • Label enclosures

  • Create collection access tools (i.e. finding aid, inventory) in accordance with professional archival standards

Archival Processing

Creating digital surrogates of analog items allows for easier sharing of materials among family/friends/communities. It also helps further preserve the original material by reducing the amount of handling of the physical item.

  • Convert analog items (photographs, documents, film^, artifacts) to digital formats

  • Digitally arrange and describe materials

  • Create metadata and access tools in accordance with professional archival standards

  • Return original material and provide digital surrogates in requested form (DVD, USB, etc.).

    *I provide preservation-quality digitization and access-ready files. Extensive restoration or editorial reconstruction services are outside the current scope of services.

    ^ Depending on media format and physical condition of the media, projects may need to be contracted out to a trusted digital media specialist for repair and/or specialized handling/transfer of materials. Their costs will be invoiced separately.
